Summer Reading Programs 2015

Sometimes the hottest spot around is right in your own neighborhood! For those times when you are one worn out mama (or papa!) let the kids spend the day reading and relaxing at home or the library. Books open up a world of magical places your kids never imagined before.

If your kiddo is uninspired to read, maybe they just need an incentive or two.

Here are some of the Summer Reading Programs slated for this year:

TD Bank will reward your kiddo with $10 in a Young Savers account for reading 10 books.

Barnes & Noble returns with their annual program. Record 8 books in their journal and take it to your nearest B&N to get a free book (from their chosen list).

Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge has the kids log in to their site, record how many minutes they read that day, and win virtual prizes.

Pizza Hut's Book-It (infamous school year reading program) boasts a summer reading program. Details to come on that one.

Sylvan Learning Center has a year-round reading incentive program and it continues this summer. Read books, take short online quizzes about them, and earn points to be redeemed for actual prizes like CDs, etc.

Chuck E. Cheese has a Reading Reward program that also runs all the time! Read and record how long you read on their calendar and turn it in for 10 free tokens.

ANDDDDDDDD........Always be sure to check with your local libraries to see what they are offering. I know Camden County, NJ always has a great one and different branch libraries in the area offer a wide variety of fun things like special story-times, crafts, puppet shows, prizes, and much more!
